Kitchen Workout

yup, that’s me getting my squat on!

I love being in good shape, and I would love to say that I’m all about my gym memberships all access pass to the elliptical…sadly however, I have no gym membership. I would also love to say that I’m one of those mamas who pushes her stroller around town while getting my run on…but I’m not. Nope. I’ve tried it and that takes more coordination than I usually have patience for. Walking, sure. Running…well if it’s an awesomely coordinated day, maybe.

Generally, my workouts involve quick intervals that I can fit into my daily chores of baby training (yup I said training) and house work. I thought I’d share, because more often than not I hear people say, “I don’t have time to work out.” And I say BS to that. If you want to be healthy and in shape, you find the time, which can sometimes be in the most surprising places.

I’ll start with squats and my secret; I do them everywhere. For instance, in the kitchen. I do 50 in between doing other stuff, like waiting for lunch to heat up. Sometimes I’ll do as many as 200 in a day! For instance, today I’ve already done 50 while defrosting steak for dinner tonight. I’ve got no shame in it, I feel better having done them and I know my butt and thighs appreciate the attention (trust me squats are your butt and thighs best friend!)

So, next time you’re standing there thinking, ” I just don’t have the time to workout.” Stop yourself and actually do something. Even if it’s for a couple of minutes.
