In a Place all Her Own

I set out this long length of cardboard, it’s hers, she knows it. I bring out the paints, she immediately wants her brushes. I get something to color and she asks for water and toast, with butter. I set it all out, and she disappears into a world all her own. Full of adventure, full of colors, full of music and conversation.
